1. Do I need experience as a bodypainter?
Can you pick up a paint brush do you know that yellow and blue make green? Your in! (There will be a discussion about the art of bodypainting at the Team Registration Meeting.)

2. Do I have to compete in all three events?
No. But when you compete in your preliminary, if you place in the top five or win the People's Choice Award you will be invited to compete in the finals.

3. What if I don't have a team?
The meetings are structured so that artists, models and stylists can meet in a casual setting and form teams.

4. What kind of paint should I use and where do I get it?
There are a few options that will be discussed at the Team Registration Meetings, including paint that "Body Gras!" has in stock, or we recommend searching the web for other options.

5. What are the prizes?
At time of printing, prize money totals $1,600 for the three events. (We're trying to find you more)

6. What time do I have to arrive?
Teams need to be at the venue no later than 6 pm (competition starts at 7 sharp). 7. How does my team know which preliminary we are in?
Organizers will draw (from a hat) which teams will compete in the first or second preliminary.

8. What materials do I need?
We will supply air, water, electricity, artist-friendly work space including a worktable and floor space approximately 8 x 10 ft. Teams are required to bring all other materials, i.e. paint, brushes, buckets, sponges, etc.

9. When do I need to submit my team's storyline, bios and music?
Bios must be submitted upon registration in order to be published in the program; music (in CD format) and typed storyline must be submitted no later than three (3) days prior to event.

10. Can I change model or stylist?
Yes, as long as they fill out a waiver before the competition.

11. Are there facilities to clean up and shower after the show?
A shared room will be made available for cleaning up after the show (please bring your own towel for the benefit of the hotel (just in case).

12. Can I take photos or can other people take my photo?
"Body Gras!" has a strictly enforced no camera policy for patrons (for the protection of all parties involved), but each team will be able to register one camera for taking photos in the competition area. Taking photos of other teams is only permitted with the verbal consent of other parties, (which also applies all invited media).

13. Do I have to pay to compete in the finals?
If you place in the top five or win the People's Choice Award you will be invited to the finals at no cost?

14. If I airbrush, do I need my own compressor?
No, we will have an air supply, but if you have access to one, you may consider bringing it (just in case).

15. What if I'm from out of town and need accommodations?
We are working on discounts for out-of-town competitors at the host venue. We'll let you know ASAP.

16. Who are the judges and how are they chosen?
Judges could be anyone? local celebrities, media types, VIPs, regular people with regular jobs? and everyone else gets to pick their favourite in the People's Choice Award.

17. Body hair?
The less the better, male or female! Paint sticks better with less body hair.

18. Genitalia?
Must be covered. Females: g-strip, g-string, thong, etc. Male: same thing.

19. Does it matter if the model is male or female?
Refer back to question about body hair.

20. What if another team is doing the same theme?
Oh well, be better than they are.

21. What are the rules about alcohol in the competition area?
Due to past experience, we discourage it. If you do partake, please do so with moderation and knowing that falling down in front of 600 people is not really that cool.

22. What comes after "Body Gras! Victoria"?
A vacation?how about you? See the Canadian Bodypainting web site for events coming to a community near you!

23. Our Goal?
To convince the world that bodypainting is just one word and that little red line will never show up on a spell check ever again.
